About the Role
The Project Manager oversees programs to ensure activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules, and budgets. They coordinate interdepartmental functions to minimize delays and meet with project team members regularly to review program status and plan future actions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the efforts of functional departments to ensure programs align with sales orders and budgets.
- Interface with customers on schedules, meetings, and problems; keep customers informed on program status.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate project operations through PDR, CDR, FAI, and product delivery.
- Plan and maintain systems and procedures for operating efficiency.
- Manage staff for optimum performance.
- Serve as the primary customer contact for cost, schedule, technical performance, customer satisfaction, and risk management.
- Develop and manage project schedules to identify and meet critical milestones for each program, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality products.
- Coordinate engineering system development, design, integration, testing, and certification to meet the master program schedule.
- Conduct cross-functional design reviews.
- Coordinate diverse cross-functional teams (technical and non-technical personnel) internally and externally, including OEM customers, engineering, production, product support, management, contracts, finance, and sales.
- Implement budgets, program tracking tools, and routinely monitor and assess cost performance and program financial profit and loss.
- Execute projects on budget and on schedule.
- Lead executive and program reviews onsite at customer facilities and actively participate in all aircraft milestones with OEM and airline customers.
Requirements
- BS or BA undergraduate degree in a related field of study; Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certification preferred.
- If the individual possesses an MS or MA graduate degree in a related field, 3-4 years of prior work experience in Project/Program Management is acceptable.
- A&P Certification preferred.
- Generally, 5-7 years of experience in Aviation Project Management, with a minimum of two (2) years in a Project/Program Manager role managing single lower-priority projects/programs.
- Ability to manage and execute all Project/Program Life Cycle Tasks on more than one lower-priority project or program simultaneously.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in broad practices associated with Project/Program Management.
