Aviation Program Analyst I

About the role

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) seeks to hire two Aviation Program Analyst I positions. These roles are part-time limited term positions that may be extended to 24 months with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of aviation programs and policies.
• Assist in the coordination of aviation operations and maintenance activities.
• Provide technical assistance to aviation personnel and stakeholders.
• Contribute to the analysis and evaluation of aviation-related data and reports.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions related to aviation programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of full-time experience in a related field, such as aviation, forestry, or resource management.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations and procedures.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits

This position is subject to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025, which temporarily reduces monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. The salary range shown on this job posting does not reflect the salary reduction.

Pay

The salary ranges for this position are $3,861.00 - $4,839.00 A, $4,181.00 - $5,233.00 B, and $5,014.00 - $6,276.00 C. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Schedule

The position is a 12-month limited term position that may be extended to 24 months with the possibility of becoming permanent. The work location is Sacramento County, and the job type is 12 Month Limited Term - Full Time.
