About the role

Responsibilities
- Preparing and conducting master planning tasks, strategic business plans, capital improvement plans, feasibility studies, airspace analyses, financial analyses, and coordinating environmental assessments
- Developing conceptual Airport Layout Plans and terminal area plans
- Researching and compiling statistical and technical information
- Writing technical studies, forecasting, airspace planning
- Preparing reports and presentations
- Aiding with client management
- Facilitating communication with FAA officials and meeting FAA-funded project standards and guidelines
- Working closely with project team members, sub-consultants, and clients
Requirements
- Minimum 0-5 years of experience in planning; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor's degree in Urban/Community Planning, Urban Ecology, Civil Engineering, Airport/Transportation Planning, Aviation Management, Geography/GIS, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
- Collaborative problem-solver with a focus on win-win outcomes.
- Strong organizational and project planning abilities.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to airports throughout the Intermountain and Northwest regions.
- Experience using generative AI and AI assistants to support research, data analysis, planning, and document production, automation, with a commitment to accuracy, data privacy, and professional judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with CAD and/or GIS.
- 2+ years of experience in planning reflecting a professional awareness of today’s aviation industry.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars, policies, regulations, and airport planning standards – mentorship provided.
