About the role
As an Air Ambulance Pilot, you are vital in providing rapid, life-saving patient transportation while ensuring the safety of medical teams and passengers during flights.
Responsibilities
- Operate aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations and company policies
- Plan and execute flights considering weather, weight, and fuel needs
- Collaborate with medical staff, ground crew, and dispatch for seamless missions
- Respond promptly to emergency calls
- Maintain accurate flight and maintenance logs
- Represent the organization professionally with patients and the public
Required Skills & Qualifications
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument or Airline Transport rating
- Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate
- Minimum of 2,500 hours helicopter flight time
- 100 hours cross-country (25 at night)
- 75 instrument hours
- 100 night flight hours
- Ability to pass a 135.293 check ride
Preferred Qualifications
- Air ambulance experience
- Night Vision Goggle experience
- 300 flight hours at night
- 1,000 hours turbine-engine time
- Residence within one hour of the base
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform pre/post-flight inspections
- Meet FAA medical and hearing standards
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Tolerate varying environmental conditions
