Aviation Meteorologist (Future Talent Pipeline)
About the Role
We're building a pipeline of experienced and talented Aviation Meteorologists for several onsite positions in the Caribbean and the U.S./Northeast region. We are looking for team players with high integrity and a proven track record of supporting aviation operations in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years of operational experience as an aviation meteorologist
- Able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends & holidays
- Experience creating TAFs
- Experience creating convective, turbulence, and icing forecasts/outlooks focused on aviation operations over large geographic areas
- Experience participating in conference calls pertaining to aviation meteorology
- Experience giving verbal/written briefs pertaining to aviation meteorology
- Strong familiarity with how various weather conditions (wind direction, wind speed, ceilings, visibility, etc.) affect runway configurations at a given airport
- Strong familiarity with airline operations
- Strong familiarity with air traffic management programs and airspace classifications
- Strong synoptic and mesoscale meteorology skills, with significant experience forecasting convection, winter weather, tropical weather, and fog
- Familiarity with impacts of volcanic ash and large-scale dust storms on aircraft and flight patterns/routes
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations
- Ability to meet hard deadlines
- Ability to multitask and pay strong attention to detail
- Ability to be an effective communicator

Pay
Anticipated salary range for this role is $105k–$125k, subject to local market and candidate's skills and experience.
