About the role
The Aviation Materials Buyer in Teterboro, NJ reports to the VP of Procurement and Materials. This role is responsible for the accurate and time-sensitive procurement and management of aircraft components to support the various fleet types operated by Jet Select, in accordance with established department processes.
Responsibilities
- Process and action requisitions for parts purchases submitted by maintenance control, planning, and site managers, including warranty review, aircraft contract application, and vendor selection.
- Maintain situational awareness of aircraft maintenance events, ensuring critical parts are procured and managed efficiently.
- Identify and process cores and warranty transactions as necessary.
- Manage existing inventory by transferring and/or allocating parts for maximum company benefit, including issuing and receiving purchase orders and service orders.
- Interface with multiple internal departments and external vendors to coordinate procurement activities.
- Review part consumption during maintenance events to confirm installation and return of unused parts, cores, and failures.

Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Two years of purchasing experience (e.g., automotive, marine, or similar industries) – required.
- Two years of purchasing/procurement experience in FAR Part 135, 91, or 121 environments – preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with aviation software, including inventory management, maintenance, and repair.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping, including dangerous goods.
- Ability to work as a team player, multitask, and perform accurately under pressure.
Schedule
The procurement department operates Monday through Sunday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM. Shifts for this role are:
- 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
