Aviation Materials Buyer

This position reports to the VP of Procurement and Materials in Teterboro, NJ.

About the role

The Aviation Materials Buyer is responsible for the accurate and time-sensitive procurement and management of aircraft components to support the various fleet types operated by Jet Select, in accordance with established department processes. The procurement department operates Monday through Sunday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM, with shifts available from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM.

Responsibilities

• Process and action requisitions for parts purchases submitted by maintenance control, planning, and site managers, including warranty review, aircraft contract application, and vendor selection.
• Maintain situational awareness of aircraft maintenance events, ensuring critical accuracy.
• Identify and process cores and warranty transactions as necessary.
• Manage existing inventory by transferring, allocating, issuing, and receiving purchase orders and service orders, interfacing with multiple internal departments and external vendors.
• Review part consumption during maintenance events to confirm installation and return of unused parts, cores, and failures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Two years of purchasing experience (e.g., automotive, marine, or similar) – required.
• Two years of purchasing/procurement experience in FAR Part 135, 91, or 121 environments – preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with aviation software, including inventory management, maintenance, and repair.
• Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping, including dangerous goods.
• Ability to work as a team player, multitask, and perform accurately and efficiently under pressure.

Schedule
