About the role
GP Strategies Government Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Structures Instructor to support a large aerospace client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance and production, particularly on the C-130 and F-35, and will possess extensive knowledge in aviation manufacturing and subassembly processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct training on a wide range of structures including Heavy Structures, Drill and Fill, Fastener Install and Removal, Bond and Ground, and Sealing.
- Teach in both classroom settings and practical labs, focusing on skills-based training and detailed On-The-Job (OJT) sessions.
- Provide presentations and training/teaching experiences.
- Travel 10-15% to surrounding area locations as needed.
- Write, edit, and produce instructional materials for technical training.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance and production on the C-130 and F-35 (preferred).
- Knowledge of aviation manufacturing and subassembly processes, including basic drilling concepts, sheetmetal handling, aircraft sealing, and electrical bonding.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting aircraft engineering drawings and electronic work instructions.
- Experience with tools such as rivet guns, puller assemblies, drills, and bond meters.
- Familiarity with Shop Floor Management (SFM0) software in an aircraft production environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- Formal training certifications in areas like Master Training Course, Train-The-Trainer, and previous personnel management experience in aircraft production environments are advantageous.
- Previous experience as an aircraft manufacturing instructor and personnel management experience in an aircraft production environment are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience using Shop Floor Management (SFM0) software in an aircraft production environment.
- Experience with aircraft power tools (rivet guns, puller assemblies, drills, etc.).
- Ability to write, edit, and produce instructional materials for technical training.
- Experience providing assistance and support to production operations by determining training needs and delivering effective training.
Physical Requirements
- Sedentary work with occasional lifting and carrying.
- Typing, communication, and repetitive motions.
- Close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer monitors, and reading visual aids.
- Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
