AVEVA Wonderware Lead

This is an onsite role in Richmond, VA.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Wonderware Lead to drive the design, development, implementation, and support of industrial automation and MES/SCADA solutions using the Wonderware (AVEVA) product suite. The ideal candidate will lead technical teams, collaborate with business stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery of manufacturing digitalization initiatives across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of Wonderware/AVEVA solutions.
• Architect and implement SCADA, HMI, Historian, MES, and System Platform applications.
• Gather business and functional requirements from manufacturing and operations teams.
• Design scalable and reliable industrial automation solutions.
• Lead code reviews, testing activities, and deployment planning.
• Assess Aveva System Platform 2023R2SP1 for system requirements and install the software within licensing constraints.
• Perform System Platform operations and integration, including InTouch HMI and Historian.
• Assess Aveva System Platform 2014 R2 for integration touch points with external systems such as OEM OPC providers.
• Develop a strategy for migration of production environment based on system assessment.
• Execute cutover change management framework.
• Troubleshoot IO connectivity within the System Platform ecosystem.
• Operate independently and outside of traditional business hours for cutover and troubleshooting purposes.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in leading Wonderware/AVEVA solutions.
• Proficiency with AVEVA System Platform (ArchestrA IDE).
• Experience with Wonderware MES/MOM (Operations, Quality, Performance).
• Expertise in Wonderware Historian & Historian Client.
• InTouch HMI (Modern Experience preferred).
• Knowledge of AVEVA OI Servers (DA/UA/ABCIP/MQTT/Modbus).
• PLC Integration (Rockwell / Siemens / Mitsubishi).
• Experience with OPC / OPC UA / MQTT communication protocols.
• SQL Server (queries, stored procedures, performance tuning).
• Windows Server & Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V).
• Understanding of manufacturing workflows.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role in Richmond, VA is $68,911 - $161,544. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors such as geographic location, education, certifications, relevant experience, and internal pay equity.
