Qualifications
- Holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred to have a Bachelor’s degree or specialized training in communication technology, instructional technology, or a related field.
- AVIXA certifications (CTS or equivalent) are preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required, and candidates must maintain a favorable driving record in accordance with the College Fleet Policy.
- A minimum of two years of experience in AV installation, maintenance, and support is highly preferred, as well as familiarity with Crestron AV systems and videoconferencing platforms.
- Experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
Requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to provide prompt and courteous support to faculty, staff, and other campus clients in both routine and live event troubleshooting situations.
- The ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and equipment issues quickly and effectively, making sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate equipment inventory records.
- Working knowledge of audio/video signal types, connection types, cable and adapter applications, and a broad range of AV equipment makes and models.
- The ability to learn and apply new technical information and assess emerging technologies for potential campus applications.
- The ability to work independently, as a team player, and remain flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the campus environment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to travel (includes walking) from their office location to any point on campus, including top floors of buildings with no elevator.
- Must be able to move a wide range of AV equipment from one location to another.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Should be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
