Technician

Duties

• Pressure testing & chlorination of water mains
• Pressure & vacuum testing of sanitary sewer mains & manholes
• Live taps, valve insertions & line stops
• Water line leak location
• Manhole coring
• 24-hr emergency service
• Working in manhole boxes and trenches

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or utility pipe experience or underground utility work
• Automotive and truck repair
• High School diploma or equivalent GED

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent GED
• A degree in Automotive / Diesel Technology or Mechanical Engineering
• Must be 21 years of age
• Valid Driver’s License and a clean MVR
• Must pass a background check, drug test, and obtain a DOT med card (physical)

Environmental Job Requirements

• Must continuously stand or walk
• Regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (50 pounds)
• Regularly exposed to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as heat, cold, dust, fumes, or odors

Special Skills/Experience/Knowledge

• The ability to read & interpret documents such as operating & maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and safety rules
• Willingness to work within OSHA & company safety guidelines
• Must hold a valid OSHA 10 card – The company will provide training as required including the OSHA 10 certification
• Good verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to make decisions & work efficiently & effectively within specific periods
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, year-round
• Must have a good mechanical aptitude, the ability to lift 50 pounds safely, the ability to learn quickly & apply that knowledge & be willing to work in a team environment

Pay

$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
