AV & Creative Technology Design Intern - Spring 2027

Job Details Description OVERVIEW: The IIT-AV Intern will gain hands-on experience developing and maintaining technology for The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. This intern will assist with opening and closing the building, installing technology in new galleries, and researching and prototyping new interactives. There is a new gallery being installed during this internship, and the main focus will be assisting with the installation and mobilization of that gallery. Essential Responsibilities Open the building to ensure all interactives are workingBrainstorm new gallery interactives and technologiesInstall technology in new galleriesCreate documentation for new gallery buildsAttend team and project meetingsWork AV eventsShadow staff to get hands-on training Requirements Completion of at least 1 to 2 years of college courseworkPreferred major or field of study: AV-related (audio, video, lighting), Entertainment, or Technology-relatedPC and Mac experienceTroubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of projectors and lighting technologyAbility to take direction and work independentlyOpen communication skillsPrevious experience in theaters or live production AV shows preferred, but not requiredPart-time position, approximately 15 hours per week Ada Requirements Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to use hand tools and power tools, with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and team members, with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to move throughout Museum galleries and technical spaces, including working at heights or on ladders as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
