AV Consultant

About the role

Salas O’Brien is seeking an AV Consultant to join our Technology team. The AV Consultant will collaborate with senior AV consultants, project managers, and clients to understand their needs and develop comprehensive audiovisual system designs.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and assist with commissioning audiovisual and media technology systems.
• Work closely and collaboratively with others on the AV team and our clients to identify needs and develop comprehensive audiovisual system designs.
• Think creatively to solve complex AV challenges, ensuring solutions are technically feasible, financially responsible, and meet client expectations.
• Produce detailed AV system design documentation, including line diagrams, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documents.
• Perform field engineering tasks such as site surveys, comprehensive systems commissioning, sound system tuning, device configuration, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications and Experience

• Three to five years of relevant experience as an AV consultant or design engineer.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in AV systems design, including audio, video, control, and AV networking systems.
• Experience with AV over IP platforms and video display technologies.
• Experience with audio DSP systems and modern AV control systems.
• Experience in creating and manipulating drawings/diagrams in AutoCAD. Revit experience is preferred.
• CCTS-D certification (or within the first year of employment).
• Experience in configuring and setting up digital audio, video, and AV control platforms.

Location

Boulder, CO (preferred) or Washington, DC.

Travel

Up to 10 - 25%

Compensation & Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
