AV Commissioning Specialist/AV Field Engineer

About the Role

The AV Commissioning Specialist / AV Field Engineer will set up and commission audio-visual equipment for customers, leading and supporting technicians, programmers, and customers. This role involves preventative maintenance, system testing, troubleshooting, and client training, acting as a customer liaison in the absence of a Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance services, routine testing, and problem diagnosis of integrated systems
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, electronic schematics, and blueprints
• Test point-to-point functionality of systems and confirm signal flow for audio, video, and control
• Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness of installation
• Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting for AMX / Crestron and DSP systems
• Field installation of control programs (AMX / Crestron) – upload and download capability
• Write code for DSP systems and make minor programming changes under direction
• Fine-tune audio-video systems to ensure optimal performance
• Configure IP-addressable devices to establish communication on a network
• Perform client training and final job documentation as needed
• Act as a customer liaison in absence of Project Manager
• Create, track, and complete a project Punchlist
• Travel to various job sites as required
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and customers
• Write effective business communication and reports
• Utilize test and calibration equipment
• Conduct user acceptance testing
• Conduct basic programming (Crestron / AMX) changes and troubleshoot issues
• Diagnose complex system problems
• Configure IP networking
• Set up workstations (PC) on systems
• Install and integrate innovative AV technologies from manufacturers such as Barco, Biamp, Christie Digital, Crestron, Extron, Middle Atlantic, NVIDIA, Poly, Samsung, Shure, Sony, and Microsoft Teams
• Manage multiple projects while adapting to changing priorities
• Work and think independently to ensure deadlines are met
• Exemplify organizational skill and attention to detail
• Regularly climb and work from ladders up to heights of 35 feet; lift equipment, tools, and materials

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Advanced knowledge of Audiovisual systems and working knowledge of wall/ceiling construction techniques
• Minimum 5 years of Audio Visual Integration experience preferred
• Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record

Location

Position is based in Los Alamitos, CA.

Travel

Regular local and occasional out-of-state/overnight travel required.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Pay

Compensation range is $42/hr. - $54/hr. depending on experience.
