About the role
As an Auxiliary Firefighter, you will work a 12-hour shift covering the City days, nights and/or weekends, responding to requests for service and emergencies such as storms, medical emergencies, fires, and perform service work as needed. The position works well for those superheroes looking for work outside of the traditional hours of 9-to-5.
Responsibilities

- Perform service work as needed
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Valid Michigan Driver's License and safe driving record
- Michigan Fire Fighter I & II certifications
- Michigan EMT license
- Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Certification
- Pass the CPAT and NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800
Qualifications
- Ability to pass the CPAT and NIMS exams

Conditional Employment Requirements
- Pass the CPAT and NIMS exams
- Background investigation
- Physical examination
- Drug screen (testing for marijuana)
- Psychological exam
