Position Responsibilities
- Lead fault and autonomy requirements definition, verification, and validation
- Define satellite/constellation states, modes, transitions, and other autonomous spacecraft behaviors
- Contribute to - and in some cases own - architecture concepts, CONOPS, and technology trade-off analyses
- Design and validate onboard fault detection, isolation, and responses and perform end-to-end validation of autonomy products and behaviors
- Support on-console operations for on-orbit missions
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and 5+ years experience in satellite design and/or operation
- Advanced degrees may augment years of industry experience
- Familiarity with one or more satellite subsystems and/or system-level analysis
- Experience in the design, development, and verification of spacecraft fault detection, isolation, and response (FDIR)
- Experience in the design, development, and verification of spacecraft autonomy software/configuration
- Familiarity with satellite testing and/or on-orbit mission operations
Preferred Qualifications
- 9+ years experience in satellite design and/or operation
- Expertise with one or more satellite subsystems and/or system-level analysis
- Experience designing satellite mission CONOPS, and deriving fault/autonomy requirements from those CONOPStechnical leadership experience with the ability to set direction of program work and create processes and standards to support the group
- Experience with satellite testing and/or on-orbit mission operations
