Autonomous Vehicle Safety Driver

About the role

HireArt is hiring responsible, safety-focused drivers to support autonomous vehicle testing in Dallas. This is a full-time driving position with steady hours and a 1-year contract.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor autonomous vehicles in real-world driving conditions
• Remain alert and ready to take control of the vehicle at any time
• Follow established safety procedures and operational guidelines
• Perform daily vehicle readiness checks
• Document observations and provide clear, structured feedback
• Interact professionally with engineers, riders, and operations staff
• Drive in various weather and road conditions

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional driving experience OR 4+ years of full-time, high volume, rideshare driving experience
• If you have an Uber Driver account, it must be in good standing (no deactivations or unresolved issues)
• Tech-savvy and familiar with relevant software/apps
• Must be 25 years of age or older (required for having an Uber driving account)
• A valid US driving license for the last 3+ years
• Must have a clean driving record with no DUIs, drug, and/or alcohol-related offenses within the last 5 years
• Able to anticipate hazardous situations and act quickly and safely, despite adverse conditions or the mistakes of others when operating a motor vehicle
• Comfortable driving in various weather conditions and on different types of roads
• Thorough knowledge of local traffic regulations
• Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail
• Takes ownership with a high level of responsibility

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include 4+ years of professional driving experience OR 6+ years of full-time, high volume, rideshare driving experience
• Certification from safe driving or defensive driving courses
• Additional courses in Safety Driving or Defensive Driving

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $25 per hour
• Schedule: 4-day work week
• Available Shifts: AM (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM), PM (4:30 PM - 1:00 AM)
• Available Schedules: Monday - Friday, Tuesday - Saturday, Wednesday - Sunday, Thursday - Monday, Friday - Tuesday, Saturday - Wednesday, Sunday - Thursday
