About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Autonomous Vehicle Data Collection Specialist / Driver to support the testing and development of next-generation autonomous vehicle technology. This role involves operating test vehicles on designated routes, monitoring vehicle performance, and collecting accurate data to support engineering and research teams. The ideal candidate is a professional driver with a strong safety mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to remain focused for extended periods while following established testing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate autonomous test vehicles on public roads and predetermined routes.
  • Monitor vehicle systems and performance during testing activities.
  • Collect, document, and report data related to vehicle operations, road conditions, and testing outcomes.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Identify, document, and communicate any unusual vehicle behavior, system issues, or safety concerns.
  • Follow detailed test procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and testing documentation.
  • Support vehicle calibration, equipment setup, and routine maintenance checks as directed.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful data collection efforts.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Operate technology systems, mobile devices, and testing software used during vehicle evaluations.
  • Provide feedback on route conditions, testing scenarios, and operational processes.

Requirements

  • Professional driving experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices.
  • Ability to remain attentive and focused for extended periods of time.
  • Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and testing protocols.
  • Comfortable using computers, tablets, smartphones, and GPS navigation tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience driving professionally in transportation, delivery, rideshare, commercial, fleet, or logistics environments.
  • Familiarity with vehicle technology, diagnostics, or advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
  • Experience documenting activities and completing reports.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
  • Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work in varying weather and traffic conditions.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.

This is a Contract position based out of Boston, MA. Flexibility to work varying schedules, shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.
