Automotive Technician/Mechanic

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring an Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Lanham, MD. The role offers competitive pay, full benefits, and potential bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on light to medium duty fleet vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

Requirements

• 5+ years’ of hands-on experience performing automotive vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)

Skills

• Physical demands: frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces
• Weather conditions: regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment, and may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms
• Safety: ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace

Pay & Schedule

• Pay $35.00 - $45.00/hour (Depending on experience)
• Pay Frequency: Weekly pay - every Friday
• Schedule: Monday - Friday 800pm - 400am
• Overnight Shift Potential: Sign-On & Retention Bonus - Up to $5,500
• Sign-On Bonus: $500 paid on the regular schedule on the 4th and 8th check
• Retention Bonus: $2500 at 6 months, $2500 at 1 year
