Automotive Technician (General Service, C, B & A Levels)

About the role

The Auto Club Group (ACG) / AAA Car Care is seeking talented individuals to join our team. We are a chain of AAA club-owned repair facilities with 47 locations across the United States. Our facilities offer a wide range of automotive repair and maintenance services to both AAA members and non-members. We are looking for professionals who are mechanically inclined, enjoy working on automobiles, and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine scheduled maintenance service on automobiles and trucks, as directed by a manager or Service Advisor.
• Perform basic automotive repair, adjustments, and maintenance procedures, including oil changes, tire replacement & repairs, and general vehicle maintenance.
• Drive vehicles into service bays, prepare them for, and complete digital vehicle inspections.
• Test drive vehicles and prepare vehicles for delivery to customers, after necessary repairs and maintenance are complete.
• Keep the shop clean and organized to ensure a positive member/customer experience.
• Learn from Technician A, B, and C colleagues to further advance your career.
• Work with, mentor, and train less experienced Technicians.
• Perform electrical repairs, diagnostic repairs, drivability diagnostics, etc., as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or Technical school certification.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledgeable about automotive and/or truck systems, tools, and technical resources, and can independently perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance of automobile and truck vehicles.
• Understand and consistently demonstrate the proper use of equipment and tools used in such repair and maintenance, and the need to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Can consistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores.

Qualifications

• All Service Techs: Minimum of 6 months relevant experience in automotive repair or completion of formal automotive training program.
• C Technician: Minimum of 6 months relevant experience in automotive repair or completion of formal automotive training program. ASE Certifications (or their equivalent).
• B Technician: 3 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center. ASE Certifications (A4-Suspension & Steering, A5-Brakes) AC 609 Certification.
• A Technician: 5 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center. ASE Certifications (A1 – A8) with Master Technician designation or the equivalent combination of technician certifications and ASE certifications. ASE certification L1-Advanced Engine Performance Specialist AC 609 Certification.

Skills

Strong mechanical skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Proficiency with automotive tools and diagnostic equipment is also required.

Pay

• General Service Tech: $15 - $17 hourly
• C Technician: $17 - $25 hourly, based on production
• B Technician: $40,000 - $70,000+; hourly base with a weekly production bonus opportunity
• A Technician: $65,000 - $110,000+; hourly base with a weekly production bonus opportunity

Schedule

Monday – Friday, hours are 7:30am-6pm; Saturday, hours are 8am to 4pm. Closed Sundays.
