Automotive Technician (General Service, C, B & A Levels)
Position Summary
AAC Car Care Technicians complete routine scheduled maintenance service on automobiles and trucks, as directed by a manager or Service Advisor. They spend their day performing basic automotive repair, adjustments and maintenance procedures, including, but not limited to; oil changes, tire replacement & repairs and general vehicle maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- General Service Tech: Drive vehicles into service bays, prepare them for, and complete digital vehicle inspection
Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs
Test drive vehicles and prepare vehicles for delivery to customers, after necessary repairs and maintenance are complete
Keep the shop clean and organized to ensure a positive member/customer experience
Learn from Technician A, B, and C colleagues to further advance your career - Technician C: All General Service Tech opportunities plus: Perform automotive repairs, adjustments and maintenance procedures as outlined on repair orders
Complete fluid exchanges, alignments, brake services, basic repair, and maintenance services, etc. - Technician B: All Tech C opportunities plus: Work with, mentor, and train less experienced Technicians
Perform all Service Technician C duties plus advanced repair and maintenance services. - Technician A: All Tech B opportunities plus: Work with, mentor, and train less experienced Technicians
Complete electrical repairs, diagnostic repairs, drivability diagnostics, etc.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: All Service Techs
Have a High School diploma, GED, or technical school certification
Possess a valid driver’s license
Have mechanical aptitude
Are knowledgeable about automotive and/or truck systems, tools, and technical resources, and can independently perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance of automobile and truck vehicles
Can consistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores - Preferred Qualifications (General Service Tech): G1-Auto Maintenance & Light Repair preferred
State inspection certificate where applicable
AC 609 Certification - Minimum Qualifications (Technician C): All General Service Tech requirements plus:
Minimum of 6 months relevant experience in automotive repair or completion of formal automotive training program.
ASE Certifications (or their equivalent). A4-Suspension & Steering, A5-Brakes
AC 609 Certification - Preferred Qualifications (Technician C): All General Service Tech preferred qualifications plus:
Two other ASE certifications (or their equivalent)
AC 609 Certification - Minimum Qualifications (Technician B): All C Tech requirements plus:
3 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center
ASE Certifications (A1 – A8) with Master Technician designation or the equivalent combination of technician certifications and ASE certifications. ASE certification L1-Advanced Engine Performance Specialist
AC 609 Certification - Preferred Qualifications (Technician B): All C Tech preferred qualifications plus:
Two other ASE certifications (or their equivalent) - Minimum Qualifications (Technician A): All B Tech requirements plus:
5 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center
ASE Certifications (A1 – A8) with Master Technician designation or the equivalent combination of technician certifications and ASE certifications. ASE certification L1-Advanced Engine Performance Specialist
AC 609 Certification - Preferred Qualifications (Technician A): All B Tech preferred requirements plus:
Two other ASE certifications (or their equivalent)
Work Environment
May experience loud noises and odors intermittently in the shop environment. This position involves standing, walking, and normal physical mobility, including reaching, grabbing, lifting, and carrying automotive parts and equipment (averaging up to approximately 80 pounds in weight). Must have own tools appropriate for their skill level for use in the center. Must be able to work in the heat, as some locations do not have air conditioning. Fans are present in all facilities. Must be able to maintain working on your feet in a concrete facility for the entire work shift.
Compensation & Benefits Overview

Compensation Pay rates starting at (rate based on experience + annual bonus eligibility)
General Service Tech: $15 - $17 hourly
C Technician: $17 - $25 hourly, based on production
B Technician: $40,000 - $70,000+; hourly base with a weekly production bonus opportunity.
A Technician: $65,000 - $110,000+; hourly base with a weekly production bonus opportunity.

Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual-based, increases with tenure, eligible at 90 days of employment.

Part-time employee PTO hours are calculated based upon the standard weekly hours the employee is scheduled to work and will accrue at a minimum of 3 hours per month.
