About the Role
Our successful Independent Dealership with locations in Marietta and Kennesaw is looking for an Experienced Automotive Sales Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for desking and approving deals as well as developing and educating our sales department on best practices. This could include teaching the most effective ways to generate leads, provide thorough follow-up, and close deals. You will be responsible for providing leadership to the sales team to ensure they meet their sales goals. It is important that the sales team is held to the highest ethical standards, and we expect you to support those standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them
- Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments
- Attend managers' meetings
- Assist the Dealer in forecasting controllable expense elements for the new and used vehicle departments
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect new and used vehicle sales
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of sales employees
- Report all vehicles sold
- Direct salespeople to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership
- Communicate with and mentor salespeople to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed
- Set sales and gross objectives for salespeople
- Guide all salespeople in setting their objectives on a short and long-range basis
- Review all salespeople's performance
- Develop programs of improvement for those salespeople who are failing to reach their objectives
- Supervise the salespeople to ensure that they follow their owners on a planned contact basis
- Evaluate each quarter gross performance of the salespeople
- Conduct a weekly sales meeting
- Keep accurate sales records, both daily and monthly
- Insist that the salespeople follow the company's prospecting program to obtain maximum results
- Comply with company's training for self and salespeople
- Recommend to the Dealer the inventory to be carried by color, model, and equipment, based on a variety of customer and market analyses
- Help salespeople close deals when necessary
- Confirm salespeople's appointments are in the CRM
- Maintain standards for the delivery of vehicles to customers
- Coordinate the function of the salespeople with the Service Dept., Parts Dept., and business office
- Assist Dealer in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions
- Evaluate automobile purchase information and contract data
- Analyze credit reports for creditworthiness
- Prepare required transaction documents and loan agreements
- Monitor data provisions and disclosure data for automobile contracts
- Resolve customer issues
Requirements
- MUST have knowledge of the auto industry and dealership procedures
- 3 Years of experience working in automotive sales management
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms
- Experience managing groups and teams
- Mentality that no job is too small
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple levels of the organization
- Ability to resolve customer issues
