About the role

The Empire Automotive Group’s Hyundai of New Rochelle location is seeking a driven and customer-focused Auto Parts Counter Associate to join our growing parts department. We're looking for a career-minded professional with prior automotive parts sales experience and a strong commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the parts sales process from start to finish.
  • Communicates with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Converses effectively/efficiently regarding customer parts status.
  • Reads and understands the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts.
  • Answers phone calls and provides price quotes and other information to customers.
  • Reviews body shop estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct, and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
  • Provides high level service to both internal and external customers.
  • Pulls/fills orders from stock and maintains weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.
  • Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order, if necessary.
  • Ensures all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
  • Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and auto parts sales experience (preferred).
  • Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Some parts counter experience, dealership or aftermarket.
  • Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
  • Ability to calculate figures/amounts including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • You have strong work-ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • You have experience providing outstanding customer service by showcasing expertise, fostering trust, and growing customer satisfaction.

  • You are open to constructive feedback to improve your performance and development.
  • Flexible with work scheduling and availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • You have strong computer and multitasking skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
