About the Role
The Automotive Parts Counter Associate serves as a liaison for both internal and external customers, promoting the sale of parts, labor, and accessories at Kissimmee Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced, growing industry with a leading automotive group that operates over 50 dealerships across seven states.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers, determine their needs, and provide excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Establish a method of payment and handle all parts telephone inquiries regarding parts purchase.
- Distribute parts to service technicians and accept warranty parts and cores for return.
- Return all warranty parts to the factory via proper marking/tagging procedures as dictated by factory guidelines.
- Process all pertinent documents and associated parts accurately.
- Actively identify related parts needed on repair jobs and advise customers or Service Consultants of parts stocking status.
- Ensure Parts Department security for all parts and paperwork.
- Write purchase orders for parts and sublet work required from outside suppliers, obtaining management approval as needed.
- Use the computer system consistently and accurately to post sales and track lost sales.
- Provide necessary information to the Parts Manager for special orders, emergency purchases, and lost sales.
- Maintain parts in correct locations and bins, keeping the work and department area clean.
- Assist with taking out garbage and boxes, and keep up to date on all training and certification.
- Be responsible for pulling and stocking parts inventory and running bin "spot checks" as directed.
- Handle receiving money and cashing out customers.
- Establish good communications between associates in parts and other departments.
- Report any issues to the department manager.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive parts.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds.
- Automotive knowledge and excellent customer service skills.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations.
- 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy.
