Automotive Painter

Tesla’s Collision Repair Program is looking for an Automotive Painter to work on one of the most progressive vehicle brands in the world. This position supports the Collision Repair Program in all aspects of refinishing.

Responsibilities

• High-quality spray application of primers, sealers, basecoats, and clearcoats
• Spray approximately 6 fully prepped repair orders per day (e.g., 2 fascias, 1 six-panel job, 3 two-to-three-panel jobs) in state-of-the-art downdraft spray booths
• Work closely with prep staff and other painters to meet work demands as a team
• Perform invisible basecoat color blending
• Apply 2- and 3-stage colors
• Produce sprayed finishes with little or no dirt, consistent gloss, and texture matching the OEM finish without sanding and buffing

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience refinishing cars in an automotive collision repair environment using urethane-based refinish systems
• Willingness to work overtime if required
• Must be willing to train others
• Capable of reading and comprehending automotive repair procedures
• Certificate from a vocational school in collision repair preferred
• Valid driver’s license preferred

Pay

• Painter III: $30.24 – $45.36/hour
• Painter IV: $36.00 – $54.00/hour
• Painter V: $43.20 – $64.80/hour

Pay includes cash and stock awards plus benefits for all levels. Offer may vary based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include other elements dependent on the position offered.
