About the role

MSX International is looking for an Operations Specialist to support automotive dealerships in improving service operations, customer experience, and overall performance. This role works directly with dealership teams to identify improvement opportunities, provide coaching, implement best practices, and help achieve business objectives. This position is field-based with up to 80% travel and offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on dealership performance, customer satisfaction, and business growth through coaching, consulting, and operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Assess dealership service operations and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Coach and support dealership staff on customer service, sales techniques, and operational best practices.
  • Partner with dealership leadership to develop and implement improvement plans.
  • Monitor progress and provide ongoing guidance to help dealerships achieve performance goals.
  • Document observations, actions taken, and recommendations following dealership visits.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Promote best practices that enhance customer satisfaction, business results, and operational effectiveness.
  • Build strong relationships with dealership personnel and influence positive change.

Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive dealership operations, fixed operations, or aftersales/service environments.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze performance data and develop actionable improvement plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience implementing customer service and sales best practices.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive results.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
  • Ability to travel regularly to dealership locations.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of dealership fixed operations, service departments, and business performance metrics.
  • Experience influencing teams and gaining buy-in for process improvements.
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data to support business decisions.
  • Experience training and coaching service advisors, technicians, and dealership staff.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 to $80,000 based on current experience. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, and other business and organizational needs.
