About the role
MSX International is looking for an Operations Specialist to support automotive dealerships in improving service operations, customer experience, and overall performance. This field-based role works directly with dealership teams to identify improvement opportunities, provide coaching, implement best practices, and help achieve business objectives. Travel up to 80%.
Responsibilities
- Assess dealership service operations and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
- Coach and support dealership staff on customer service, sales techniques, and operational best practices.
- Partner with dealership leadership to develop and implement improvement plans.
- Monitor progress and provide ongoing guidance to help dealerships achieve performance goals.
- Document observations, actions taken, and recommendations following dealership visits.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Promote best practices that enhance customer satisfaction, business results, and operational effectiveness.
- Build strong relationships with dealership personnel and influence positive change.
Requirements
- Experience in automotive dealership operations, fixed operations, or aftersales/service environments.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze performance data and develop actionable improvement plans.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience implementing customer service and sales best practices.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
- Ability to travel regularly to dealership locations.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of dealership fixed operations, service departments, and business performance metrics.
- Experience influencing teams and gaining buy-in for process improvements.
- Ability to analyze financial and operational data to support business decisions.
- Experience training and coaching service advisors, technicians, and dealership staff.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current annual range is $60,000 to $74,000 based on current experience. This range takes into account skill sets, experience, training, and other business and organizational needs.
Location: Mahwah, NJ. Salary + Bonus + Monthly Vehicle Allowance.
