Automotive Mechanic NA-10.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and/or overhaul major components and systems such as engines, transmissions, differentials and transaxles, electronic fuel injection systems, emission control systems, and related electrical systems.
• Disassemble, adjust, repair, reassemble, and perform operational checks on components following instructions in technical manuals.
• Observe safety, sanitation, and hazardous waste disposal rules and requirements.
• Isolate and repair complex malfunctions using visual and auditory examinations and a variety of test equipment (e.g., computerized engine analyzers, compression testers, test benches).
• Disassemble, repair, replace, recondition, and rebuild components based on technical manual specifications and accepted trade practices.
• Operate vehicles to test repairs and move around the facility.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for the position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license as required by local, state, or military regulations.
• Work is often performed in tiring, awkward, and uncomfortable positions (e.g., frequent standing, bending, stooping, and crawling).
• Lifts supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 44 lbs.
• Exposed to drafts, noise, fumes, dirt, dust, grease, and automotive fluids that may cause irritation from chemicals.
• Must follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment (e.g., gloves, ear protectors, safety glasses) to avoid injury.
• Must be able to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
