Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies
- Test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (electrical and mechanical)
- Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
- Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standards
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed with the most up to date information
- Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
- Maintain shop equipment through troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma; Technical degree in related field is preferred
- Previous experience in the automotive field
- ASE certifications is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one
- Able to provide personal tools
- Able to work in an environment with frequent exposure to outside weather elements
- Able to work 8-10 hour days, including overtime hours as needed
- Able to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
