Key Responsibilities
- Design and development of real-time embedded software/firmware and PC/mobile based software applications.
- Analyse domain-specific technical or low-level requirements and modifications as per end customer or system requirements.
- Participate in high-level and low-level software design.
- Perform software testing including unit, functional, and system-level requirements, including manual and automated testing.
- Perform software requirement-to-design-to-coding-to-testing traceability.
- Perform code reviews following coding guidelines and static code analysis.
- Troubleshoot software problems of limited difficulty.
- Document technical deliverables such as software specifications, design documents, code comments, test cases, and test reports throughout the project lifecycle.
- Follow defined processes for software development life cycle.
- Develop software solutions from established programming languages or learn new languages required for specific projects.
Key Experience / Skills Required
- 5+ years of experience in BSP or low-level embedded software development, preferably in the automotive domain.
- Good understanding of Android and Kernel basics.
- Understanding of device drivers and hands-on experience of the same.
- Experience with ARM tools and scripting languages (Python, Shell scripts).
- Embedded device driver development for ARM processors.
- Familiarity with QNX / Embedded Linux kernel development.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., QEMU, Xen, KVM) and virtual I/O frameworks.
- Solid understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet AVB/TSN).
- Experience with hardware bring-up, debugging tools (JTAG, Lauterbach), and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with Clock drivers, Peripherals (Storage device, Buses) drivers, Diag, IPC drivers, and Power Management drivers would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of functional safety concepts and compliance processes.
- Very good debugging skills required.
- Open source and other stack integration.
- Experience with Yocto and CI/CD.
