About the role

Auto-Mechanic Transdev in Sandusky, Ohio is seeking an experienced A-Level Auto-Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gasoline engines across various vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on gasoline engines.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for gasoline engines.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic.
  • ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.

Physical Requirements

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions - 100% of the job is performed outside.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day).
  • Frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday.
  • Lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to file or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
  • Tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.

Pay

Competitive compensation package of minimum $26.00 – Maximum $35.00.
