Automotive Detailer - Car Washer - Charlottesville Airport

About the role

We are seeking a responsible, dedicated person to join our team as a Full-Time Automotive Detailer at our Charlottesville Airport location (100 Bowen Loop, Charlottesville, VA 22911). This position is critical to upholding the highest cleanliness standards in the industry, ensuring the health and safety of everyone through exceptional cleaning practices.

Pay

Starting rate of pay is $17 per hour with additional premiums:

• $1.00 per hour for all hours worked Monday - Friday starting at 5:00pm
• $1.00 per hour for all shifts worked on Sundays

We have two available schedules:

• Option 1:
  • Sunday: 11:00am - 7:30pm
  • Monday: OFF
  • Tuesday: OFF
  • Wednesday: 1:00pm - 9:30pm
  • Thursday: 11:00am - 7:30pm
  • Friday: 11:00am - 7:30pm
  • Saturday: 11:00am - 7:30pm
• Option 2:
  • Sunday: OFF
  • Monday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Tuesday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Wednesday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Saturday: OFF

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, vacuum, and prepare vehicle interior according to industry-standard protocols
• Wash, clean and dry the vehicle's exterior, including cars of different sizes, vans, and trucks
• Inspect vehicles for the following:
  • Fuel level and warning lights
  • Windshield damage
  • Prior customer data (perform factory reset/restore vehicle settings)
  • Customer items (place anything of value in Lost & Found)
  • Registration presence, currency, and match to license plate
  • Fluid levels (add as needed)
  • Tire condition, pressure, and tread depth
  • Exterior damage
  • Safety concerns
• Fuel and stage vehicle
• Report any warning lights, vehicle/windshield/tire damage, and pull vehicle out of prep processing as necessary
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; report any unsafe or hazardous conditions
• Operate tools such as carpet shampoo machines or air purifiers to eliminate stains, pet hair, and odors
• Assist customers when needed; may transport customers to and from branches
• Maintain overall site appearance, including:
  • General cleaning of interior and exteriors of branch locations
  • Desktops, countertops, phones, floors, trash, bathrooms
  • Vacuuming, sweeping the lot, and other miscellaneous tasks related to daily cleanliness
• Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training, and goal setting
• Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver's license with:
  • No more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record in the past 3 years
  • No more than 8 points total on the driving record
  • No drug or alcohol-related violations on driving record in the past 3 years (e.g., DUI, DWI)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future
• Must have at least six (6) consecutive months of prior work or organizational experience
