Automotive Detailer

About the role

Sheehy Auto Stores, a Top 30 private dealer group with over 25 locations and recognized as a 2024‑2025 Top Workplace in Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Richmond, is seeking a Detailer/Car Washer. The position involves on‑site detailing and reconditioning, playing a key role in providing customers with immaculate vehicles. Candidates should be self‑motivated, have a keen attention to detail, and be passionate about automotive detailing.

Responsibilities

• Wash vehicle exteriors using cleaning solution, water, cloths, and brushes.
• Apply wax to auto bodies and buff surfaces to protect and preserve shine.
• Vacuum vehicle interiors to remove loose dirt and debris.
• Clean upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces with appropriate cleaning agents and applicators.
• Apply revitalizers and preservatives to vinyl or leather surfaces and treat fabrics with spot‑ and stain‑resistant chemicals.
• Clean engine compartments with steam cleaning equipment and cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.
• Apply special‑purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Paint engine components and related parts using spray guns, aerosol cans, and masking material.
• Touch‑up paint chipped body surfaces using touch‑up paint containers.
• Apply dyes and reconditioning chemicals to vinyl tops to restore color and condition.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license for a minimum of three (3) years.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Authorization to work in the USA.
• Pass pre‑employment background screening, motor vehicle record check, and drug test.
