Automotive Service Writer Overview

The Automotive Service Writer will provide excellent service by assisting customers with scheduling, pricing and payment of products and services, communicate with automotive mechanics and tire and lube technicians on a regular basis, and field incoming calls.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers to understand their automotive repair needs and relay information to the appropriate service technician to complete repairs
• Schedule customer appointments
• When necessary, assist with administrative services related to automobile repairs; tasks may include preparing repair estimates for customers and notifying customers of preventive and scheduled maintenance
• Monitor inventory and order supplies, tools, tires and accessories
• Ensure that the customer service area and shop are neat, clean and safe
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• Interpersonal and customer service skills
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Some knowledge of automobile repair and tires
• Ability to learn and operate automotive service software

Compensation

$17.00-$20.00 per hour
