Automotive Business Consultant
About the Role
Reynolds and Reynolds is looking for experienced automotive professionals to join our consulting team. As an Automotive Business Consultant, your primary focus will be to establish professional relationships with customers and help their businesses become more efficient, effective, and profitable. You will work with dealership personnel to identify trouble areas within the dealership and use established consulting services programs and industry knowledge to solve these issues. After project completion, you will follow up with customers to maintain relationships and provide ongoing ‘fee for service’ support and problem resolution.
This is a high-travel position requiring overnight hotel stays up to 5 nights per week, every week.
Responsibilities
- Establish professional relationships with automotive dealership customers.
- Identify and address inefficiencies or trouble areas within dealerships using proven consulting programs.
- Provide ongoing support and problem resolution to customers post-project completion.
- Drive consulting services sales by building trust and delivering results.
Training
Training consists of approximately 90 days in the field with experienced consulting and sales representatives, online courses completed from your home office, and classroom instruction at our offices in Dayton and Houston. During training, your compensation will be a $60,000–$63,000 base salary. After the 9-month training period, you will be eligible for quarterly bonuses. Total targeted income post-training (including base and bonuses) is $80,000+.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required).
- 5+ years of automotive dealership experience in roles such as Sales Associate/Representative, Service Advisor, Sales Manager, Internet Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, F&I Manager, Controller/Office Manager, Parts Manager, Service Manager, Fixed Operations Director, or General Manager.
- Willingness to travel extensively with overnight hotel stays up to 5 nights per week, every week.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with fewer than 2 moving violations in the last three years and no OVI/DUI/DWI violations in the last five years.
- Reliable home internet with sufficient bandwidth for video conferencing.
