Automation Test Engineer

About the role

The role involves working on a calculation intensive financial application with a Windows based UI and Microservices backend. The ideal candidate should have a strong analytical mindset, an eagerness to learn and a keen interest in automation and performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using the existing Java based Spring Boot, Cucumber BDD automation framework.
• Validate and enhance automation coverage for new features and requirements.
• Perform end to end API and backend automation testing for microservices based applications.
• Execute complex validation of financial calculations, including Large scale JSON response validations.
• Perform database validation using SQL queries.
• Execute performance, load, and stress testing using JMeter for calculation intensive application components.
• Identify, report, and track defects using JIRA.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to ensure high quality software delivery.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain automation scripts in Bitbucket.
• Continuously improve the automation framework and testing processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as an Automation Test Engineer.
• Financial/banking experience.
• Java based Spring Boot, Cucumber BDD automation framework.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand complex business requirements and financial calculations.
• Experience in creating test scenarios, test cases, and automation strategies.
• Ability to estimate and validate automation coverage for new requirements.
• A proactive and self-driven individual with a passion for quality engineering.
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and testing methodologies.
• Interest in building expertise in both Automation Testing and Performance Testing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 $139,300.00.

This role is located at client site in Cary, NC - Hybrid.
