P o sition S ummary
The Automation Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining automated equipment and implementing new automation opportunities that will have a significant impact on safety, cost, and quality.
R e sponsibilities
- Work with internal customers on maintaining and troubleshooting all operating company automation systems
- Utilize electrical, mechanical, and controls automation skills to enhance automation systems
- Lead aspects of automation projects including design and implementation to assure projects are completed on schedule
- Create and document new processes
- Monitor performance and utilization of automation process implementations
- Support capital expenditure requests and implementations
- Drive cross-company collaboration using similar automation equipment
- Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
- Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
- Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
- Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
R e quirements
- Associates Degree in robotics, automation, controls, or a related field, or relevant experience
- 1 year working with automation systems integration
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks/projects
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Must be a self-starter, team player, and have a positive attitude
- Ability to think creatively, drive results and stay focused on daily tasks
- Proficient in Computer Design Tools such as SolidWorks
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask
- To work in a fast-paced team environment
D esirable C ritical A nd Q ualifications
- Familiar with Human Machine Interface (HM I), motion control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers
- Familiar with vision systems (Keyence, Cognex)
- Familiar with programming languages (Python, C++, Visual Basic, etc…)
- Familiar with various sensors/actuators (ITI, SMC, Robotiq)
- Familiar with Robotics (Fanuc, Yushin, Epson, UR, Collaborative Robots)
