About the role

The Automation Technician I uses knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and computers to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and computer-controlled systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Automated Systems using Allen-Bradley PLCs and computers.
• Troubleshoot the automation system using various PLC programs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot HMI Systems, making adjustments or modifications as needed.
• Perform checks and calibration of plant floor equipment.
• Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance work.
• Interpret and update electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, P&ID diagrams, and redlined plans.
• Complete documentation for scheduled maintenance work.
• Install new electrical circuits (sensors, motors, VFDs, valves, actuators).
• Document maintenance tasks using a CMMS system.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology or related field required.
• Experience with reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, including knowledge of redlining schematics for updates.
• Experience with wiring electrical control panels or equipment, remote actuators, inputs and outputs, as well as plumbing equipment, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic lines.
• Experience planning, selecting, testing, installing, and maintaining equipment and systems.
• Minimum one (1) year of related experience required.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Pay

$36.56/hour with a $1.50 shift differential. Two pay increases within the first year. Double time on Sundays and holidays.

Schedule

2-2-3 rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
