AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN 2 (for Days)

About the role

The Automation Technician I is an hourly position supporting the operation of an automated material handling system. This position ensures the ASRS and its components operate efficiently, diagnosing and resolving both physical and IT-related errors.

Responsibilities

• Work with Warehouse ASRS Operators and Warehouse Control System (WCS) to identify and clear machine faults.
• Use Warehouse Control System (WCS) to troubleshoot errors related to the automated warehouse.
• Maintain data integrity in Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Warehouse Control System (WCS).
• Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on automation equipment as assigned.
• Participate in continuous improvement teams on warehouse automation.
• Support warehousing processes by participating in Maintenance Technician I and II tasks.

Requirements

• High School Degree or GED
• Advanced technical training and/or certificate preferred
• Knowledge and experience with computer systems (prefer WMS and WCS experience)
• Familiarity with PLC
• Understanding of conveyor maintenance and repair
• Experience with ASRS Cranes and repair
• Proficiency in electrical systems
• Good technical understanding and experience with basic computer operation
• Flexibility to work all shifts including weekends
• Understanding of distribution center processes
• Ability to communicate clearly
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
• Team-oriented and collaborative
• Creative-thinking and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Physical demands: Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, see, speak, and hear, lift up to 100 lbs.
• Other abilities: Maintain a professional manner, initiate action to prevent non-conformities, participate in meetings, verify solutions, follow security procedures, participate in training.
