In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Production Operations, Facilities Engineering, Automation Engineering, and Maintenance teams to deliver seamless automation solutions—from designing and programming PLCs and HMIs to troubleshooting and commissioning systems that bring production online. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining operational excellence, safety compliance, and industry standards.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in oil & gas automation, instrumentation, or controls
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas facility process equipment and automation system design
  • Advanced experience with PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, EFMs, and related instrumentation (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Totalflow, ROC, Coriolis)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining process instrumentation (temperature, pressure, level, flow)
  • Familiarity with MOC and PSSR processes, design reviews, and PHA/PHR experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Proficiency with test equipment (Fluke 789, HART Communicator) and electrical circuits
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • Ability to work on a 14-days-on/14-days-off rotation

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with pneumatic instrumentation calibration and maintenance
  • Knowledge of automation host systems and industrial control networks
  • Experience with design reviews, PHA/PHR, and safety processes

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Relevant technical certifications or training in instrumentation or controls
  • Experience supporting automation construction, commissioning, and start-up activities

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel within the field site as needed
  • Commitment to strict safety, environmental, and operational standards
  • Certifications in safety and environmental protocols are preferred
