About the role

The role involves initiating, implementing, and managing the maintenance program specific to automation. It also includes coordinating with the Operations team and maintenance manager for scheduled PM/Repair work, monitoring spare parts and equipment inventories, maintaining and repairing automation equipment and secondary systems, updating manuals, monitoring plant equipment, initiating efficiency improvement projects, ensuring safety, health, and environmental policies, supporting plant improvements, and coordinating with the Maintenance manager.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates, implements, and manages the maintenance program specific to automation.
  • Captures and coordinates with the Operations team and maintenance manager for scheduled PM/Repair work.
  • Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
  • Maintains and repairs automation equipment and secondary systems.
  • Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Supports company- and plant-wide safety programs by providing technical expertise/support and training.
  • Coordinates activities with Maintenance and Operations team.
  • Reports directly with the Maintenance manager to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
  • Communicates directly with the Maintenance manager to ensure effective interaction between maintenance activities and quality requirements, including participation by the maintenance technicians in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.
  • Supports company- and plant-wide safety programs by providing technical expertise/support and training.
  • Responsible for special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience with the set up and operations of plant specific automation systems.
  • Injection molding experience.
  • Advanced Maintenance skills.
  • Experience with large tonnage machines (4000 tons).
  • Strong understanding of OSHA Safety Standards.
  • Previous maintenance experience is required.
  • The ability to work in a high-volume work environment in a team atmosphere is essential.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office; Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Thorough understanding of the organization and work environment.
  • Has a thorough understanding of plastics materials.
  • Experience with Automation Certifications, licenses, and other special requirements: Valid Driver's license and good driving record may be required.
