Automation Engineering Intern

About the role

Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America (AKBA) is seeking a motivated Automation Engineering Intern to support the design, development, and testing of automation systems and software used in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. The position is located in Glenview, IL.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and testing PLC, SCADA, and custom software applications.
• Support automation hardware configuration, troubleshooting, and system commissioning.
• Contribute to web-based application development using JavaScript, React, TypeScript, and SQL.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system performance and develop innovative solutions.
• Gain hands-on experience with industrial automation technologies, including Rockwell Automation and FactoryTalk.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Interest in industrial automation, programming, and software development.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work onsite in Glenview, IL.
• A collaborative, self-motivated attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role is $18-20/hour.
