Automation Engineer III- #26-16646

What You'll Do

• Increase accountability for the strategy and delivery of AI-enabled workflows within Finance.
• Build, test, and deploy production automation solutions across Finance functions such as Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Audit, and Procurement.
• Own the entire lifecycle of AI-enabled solutions, from initial scoping to production release.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions, guiding stakeholders on solution design and implementing grounded implementations in Meta’s technology stack.
• Implement governance measures from the outset, including guardrails, fallback behaviors, human-in-the-loop logic, and documentation that satisfies enterprise control and audit requirements.
• Create stable data foundations by identifying and integrating relevant datasets into extensible pipelines that power reliable automation.
• Collaborate across disciplines, partnering with internal architects on design decisions, debugging issues directly with stakeholders, and bringing field learnings back to improve the Hub's platforms and practices.
• Document technical decisions, assumptions, and dependencies to ensure solutions are auditable, maintainable, and transferable.
• Participate in the oncall rotation for month-end and quarter-end close cycles, supporting critical Finance workflows without disruption.

What You'll Bring

• Strong software engineering skills in Python, SQL, and API development.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML models, LLMs, or intelligent automation frameworks.
• Working knowledge of data pipelines and integration patterns that move data reliably between systems.
• Understanding of enterprise controls and audit requirements, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
• Ability to work directly with Finance stakeholders who aren’t engineers, translating their pain into technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical tradeoffs, design choices, and risks in plain language.
• Operational readiness to participate in the oncall rotation during month-end and quarter-end close periods, including after-hours and weekend support.
• A reliability mindset, building with supportability in mind and taking ownership when systems need attention.

Technical Foundation

• Experience with AI/ML models, LLMs, or intelligent automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of data pipelines and integration patterns.
• Understanding of enterprise controls and audit requirements.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python, SQL, and API development.

Preferred (Not Required)

• Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or similar embedded-builder role.
• Domain experience in Finance, Audit, or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with Meta’s technology stack.
