Automation Engineer II

About the role

Exciting development opportunity to work for a global leader dedicated to helping people see brilliantly – the largest device company in the world with complementary businesses in Surgical and Vision Care. This is a 1‑year contract Automation Engineer II position with extension or conversion potential, based in Fort Worth, TX. The role supports the integration and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) within the Engineering Manufacturing team, partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, IT, and Validation teams to integrate production equipment and processes into Siemens Opcenter MES systems.

Responsibilities

• Support MES integration projects involving PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and OPC connectivity
• Program and troubleshoot A‑B PLCs and Ignition SCADA systems
• Design and improve machine connectivity and manufacturing automation processes
• Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment reliability, throughput, safety, and quality
• Lead engineering project activities, troubleshooting, and change control efforts in a GMP‑regulated environment

Requirements

• Hands‑on PLC programming experience
• MES integration experience (PLC, SCADA, OPC)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing automation, machine data collection, and MES concepts
• Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments preferred
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; sponsorship (including H‑1B, OPT, CPT, etc.) is not available
