About the role

You will join Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. FFEx is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, employing approximately 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 global workforce. As a newly established and growing area, FFEx designs, plans, and builds new aseptic filling capacity worldwide to serve millions of patients by rethinking production facilities with modern technology and setting standards for future aseptic production.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, and vendors to align process control systems for existing and new equipment and processes with local and global standards.
  • Specify equipment IFA’s and requirements with equipment vendors to ensure compatibility with local manufacturing and adherence to all requirements.
  • Act as an automation resource on projects involving process control systems.
  • Support plans to maintain and improve process control systems and execute plans in coordination with manufacturing schedules.
  • Own self-development and initiative to understand site process control systems.
  • Adhere to automation standards and implement necessary changes to automation-related specifications and maintenance plans.
  • Support audits and inspections for process control systems.
  • Utilize cLEAN® tools in systematic problem solving, process improvement, and project management.
  • Operate within compliance with a quality mindset focused on risk management and mitigation.
  • Implement effective change management.
  • Support Corporate, Product Supply, local IT, and local stakeholder initiatives and projects.
  • Participate in the development of new SOPs, best practices, and maintenance procedures.
  • Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university required.
  • May consider an Associate’s degree in engineering or a related field with a minimum of five years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utilities, and/or packaging systems.
  • May consider a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of seven years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utilities, and/or packaging systems.
  • Minimum of three years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utilities, and/or packaging systems required.
  • For logistics roles: experience with warehouse automation equipment (e.g., Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems, Automated Guided Vehicles, Autonomous Mobile Robots, and Conveyor systems) is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in technologies such as SAP EM, PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL (databases), Historian, and general controls is a plus.
  • SAP EWM knowledge is a plus.
  • Proven expertise in planning, organization, and execution of engineering activities is a plus.
  • Ability to follow up on results and revise work plans for moderately complex problems resolved by cross-functional teams is a plus.
  • Ability to translate high-level direction into actionable tasks that deliver results using cLEAN®/Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distractions.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
