Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support automation and control systems for manufacturing and facility equipment, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms.
  • Troubleshoot automation and control system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain PLC logic and HMI/SCADA configurations in accordance with approved standards, change control procedures, and validated system requirements.
  • Support new equipment installations and automation-related capital projects, including requirements definition, vendor coordination, FAT/SAT participation, commissioning, and system handoff.
  • Assist with computerized systems compliance activities, including change control, system documentation, risk assessments, and validation support.
  • Maintain accurate, inspection-ready automation documentation such as control narratives, network diagrams, I/O lists, alarm configurations, and system backups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum of 4–7 years of hands-on automation or controls engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting PLC/HMI/SCADA systems, including troubleshooting and system modifications in a production setting.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP requirements, computerized systems practices, and data integrity principles within regulated manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with industrial networking concepts and automation system connectivity (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/Serial).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and operational reliability.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and external vendors.

Qualifications

We are looking for applicants with:
