Automation Engineer

About the role

Maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers. Provide proactive controls automation and technical support. Troubleshoot complex control systems and analyze performance metrics. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize material handling equipment (MHE) systems. Implement innovative projects using state-of-the-art technology (conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, SCADA). Serve as the site expert for maintaining automation systems critical for operations.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or automation engineering, OR 2+ years of relevant PLC programming or automation engineering experience
• Experience with material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus)
• Ability to understand, maintain, and troubleshoot motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems
• Experience monitoring MHE metrics and addressing system performance issues
• Ability to provide first-level escalation support for site technicians
• Experience with Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs
