About the role

In this role, you will lead the design, simulation, and implementation of robotic and automated manufacturing systems, including robotic end-of-arm tooling, grippers, and assembly fixtures. You will lead automation projects from concept through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and production and automate and optimize manual processes and support robotic systems through programming and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and simulating robotic systems, including end-of-arm tooling, grippers, and fixtures, using CAD and robotic simulation software
  • Leading automation projects from concept through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and production in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and outside vendors
  • Automating and optimizing manual processes, and supporting robotic systems through programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Developing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting documentation, and training materials
  • Supporting capital project development, including scope, cost estimates, and return on investment
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to technicians, operators, and engineers
  • Evaluating emerging robotics and automation technologies

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in robotics, automated manufacturing, or machine design preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering field
  • This position is subject to ITAR compliance: International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status; ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident ("Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire; visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Skills

  • Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design experience, from concept through production
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design
  • Experience working with machine builders, tooling suppliers, fabricators, and vendors
  • Experience with robotic assembly, automated part handling, and fixturing
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, tooling, and robotic systems during commissioning and production
  • Experience with pneumatic, electric, servo-driven, or compliant tooling
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience designing end-of-arm tooling, grippers, and assembly fixtures preferred
  • Robotic simulation or offline programming experience preferred
  • Machine vision or automated inspection experience preferred
  • Experience in investment casting, aerospace, or precision manufacturing preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is preferred

Pay

$95,000–$120,000 per year
