Automation Engineer

About the role

Keep our plant running at its best. As our Automation Engineer, you'll own the controls and Ethernet network that power our manufacturing operations — designing, building, and maintaining the automation systems our teams rely on every day.

You'll be our highest level of in-house controls expertise: the person who solves the toughest problems, drives continuous improvement, and partners across the plant (and with IT) to turn floor data into better decisions. Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and administer the plant's controls Ethernet network
• Design and deliver reliable automation solutions end to end — electrical panel design, device selection, flow charts, project schedules, scope of work, and cost estimates — in-house or with third-party partners
• Serve as the top technical resource for complex automation, controls, and electrical troubleshooting, providing break/fix support that keeps production moving
• Maintain all automation programs and documentation: PLC and HMI programs, electrical drawings, P&IDs, pin charts, functional analyses, and sequences of operation
• Own the facility's automation software stack — Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Ignition, Wonderware, Schneider, ICIS, and network management tools
• Partner with IT to bridge plant-floor data to the ERP system, and generate energy and production reports (Wonderware Historian, ICIS)
• Guide local project teams on automation and controls, and work with the broader Automation Team to standardize best practices across sites
• Champion continuous improvement — seek out better processes and share knowledge across the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or 4+ years developing automation systems for production processes
• Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI programming and industrial controls (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Ignition, Wonderware)
• Working knowledge of industrial Ethernet networks and plant-floor-to-ERP data integration
• Strong troubleshooting skills across automation, controls, and electrical systems
• Ability to read and produce electrical drawings, P&IDs, and controls documentation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams
• Highly organized and self-directed, comfortable prioritizing multiple projects at once
• Willingness to travel occasionally between sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SCADA / historian platforms and energy or production reporting
• Experience standardizing controls across multiple manufacturing sites
• Background in food & beverage or CPG manufacturing

Pay

The salary range for this full-time position is $82,500.00 - $129,800.00, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
