Automation Engineer

Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Tulsa, OK - hybrid. Type: 6-Month Contract.

Overview

This role will primarily focus on control system hardware and engineering documentation, including PLC enclosures, junction boxes, I/O schematics, and cable schedules. The project will utilize Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs with FLEX 5000 I/O modules. PLC programming experience is not required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Develop control system enclosure designs for approximately 10–15 enclosures
• Support control system design using Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and FLEX 5000 I/O
• Develop junction box designs for wire marshalling and local instrument connections
• Develop and review I/O schematics
• Develop and maintain cable schedules
• Coordinate control system hardware and field instrumentation connections
• Work with project drafters and designers to develop and complete design drawings and documentation
• Support overall automation and controls engineering activities throughout the design phase

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience with automation, controls, or instrumentation & controls (I&C) engineering
• Experience with control system hardware and enclosure/panel design
• Understanding of PLC I/O, junction boxes, field instrumentation, and control wiring
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix or similar PLC systems preferred
• Ability to develop and/or review I/O schematics and cable schedules
